Adam Loy-7-Edit copyI am an Assistant Professor of Statistics in the Department of Mathematics at Lawrence University. I received my Ph.D. from the Department of Statistics at Iowa State University in 2013. My research focuses on the development, implementation, and visualization of diagnostics for mixed and hierarchical linear models. I also am interested in statistics education, and applying statistical methods to problems in the engineering/physical sciences.

I also completed my M.S. in Statistics at Iowa State in 2009. My M.S. project, Visual Monitoring of Data Streams, combined the use of modified control charts and visualizations on both the macro and micro level with application to monitoring flight on-time performance in the United States. I received my B.A. in Mathematics/Statistics with a minor in Economics in 2007 from Luther College.
