My research has increasingly focused on areas that need collecting and coding of thousands of documents, a process made vastly easier with the aid of Python and PostgreSQL. PostgreSQL has some facilities for handling fuzzy text searches that have been useful, and its storage and retrieval facilities are excellent. Unfortunately, once we enter the realm of thousands of cases, we can no longer rely on traditional statistical measures.
