A large, interdisciplinary group of Lawrence University faculty and staff, headed by Dave Hall, Associate Professor of Chemistry, and myself, are working on obtaining funding to build a makerspace in the Mudd Library!
We believe an interdisciplinary makerspace is perfect for a small liberal arts school like Lawrence that focuses on engaged learning, creativity, and self-discovery. The library seemed to be the perfect choice for this space, as it already serves as a gathering place for students from a variety of majors and interests.
More information will be posted as we get further along in our project.
**UPDATE 2/28/18** We have a makerspace (and have for a couple of years)! Read more on the makerspace blog.
