Syllabus

Spend 8 days / 7 nights in one of the most exciting cities in the world. Explore the city’s historical, political, literary, artistic, and musical scenes, in summer weather!
Knowledge of Spanish helpful but not required.
3 unit course.

Program fee $3,500 plus Lawrence tuition and airfare.

The program fee covers:

  • 7 nights at a 3-star hotel accommodation in downtown BA, with double occupancy rooms,
  • Transportation to and from airport,
  • All taxis, subways, city buses (as needed),
  • A private bus (with local guide in English) for all the excursions.
  • All meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks,
  • Students’ insurance (through Lawrence University’s provider)
  • Museum and events entrances.

In addition to the program fee, students are responsible for the airfare between their home and Buenos Aires (approximately $1,500 in an American carrier, depending on where they fly from), and Lawrence tuition (approximately $2,096).

• Students should bring pocket money for snacks, souvenirs, and incidental expenses.
• A sensible amount would be approximately $350.

Funding: Great news! 
Lawrence offers two sources of possible funding:
— Financial Aid (please email Financial Aid with questions) and
— Off-Campus Programs (apply here and reach out to Lezlie Weber with questions).

Grant amount will be determined by the Office of Financial Aid and is based on your FAFSA for the current academic year. Please, get in touch with your Financial Aid counselor.

Registration
Opened on May 13. Registration closes at 5:00 p.m. on October 23, 2024, for D-term. Below is a link to the registration schedule.

Travel dates
• Students will depart on December 2, arriving to Buenos Aires airport, called Ezeiza (EZE) on December 3.
• They will be picked up at the airport by a travel agent representative, as conditions allow.
• They will return to the US departing on December 10. They will be taken to the airport. They will arrive in the US on December 11.

After the course is finished they may, of course, elect to stay longer and travel independently.

TIMELINE FOR PAYMENTS
1st payment • September 20 – non-refundable $500.00 deposit. 
2nd payment • October 1– Half of the program fee reminder: $1,500
3rd payment • October 23 – Half of the program fee reminder: $1,500

D-Term tuition
The tuition will be billed to the student’s account at Lawrence.

  • *Domestic Credit card payments are subject to a convenience fee of approximately 2.85%. During the check out process, the fee will be calculated and disclosed. If you use the bank account option, there are no convenience fees.
