Check out our collaboration with the Campbell group at Barnard College in Chem Sci!

Evan Oriel and Graham’s work with spin quantitation via EPR spectroscopy has been published in Chemical Science (open access)! Our collaborators at Barnard College in the Campbell group have made some very cool Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) using naphthalenediimide based ligands. We used our EPR to count the number of anion radicals that appeared on the ligand backbones after exposure of the MOF material to fluoride ions. This is a new approach to understanding the chemistry of the ligands inside the pores of these 3-D structures.

Bright Blue!

Looking like some promising colors coming out of the luminescent radical project. We’ve got lots of irons in the fire, and are hoping to have something submitted on these BDPA-derived radicals out by summer!
